The Sage's Burden

You've done wonderful work today. My kin can finally rest knowing the roots are calm. But your job isn't quite finished yet.

Grendel the Really Old and the others on the surface still think this is just some wild, spreading disease. They have no idea what's really happening down here.

You need to tell them about Caligo, and that the Arcon itself is the one corrupted. If they don't know the truth, they won't be prepared when the Stasis Seal eventually fades.

Could you return to Ellinia and let Grendel the Really Old know? He'll need time to figure out the next step.

Thank you. Let him know we're holding the line down here for now. Have a safe trip back up!

You're back. I can feel the earth settling beneath Ellinia. There's no need for a long explanation. You found them, didn't you?

So... they survived all these years in the dark. I am glad. But you carry a grave expression. What else did you find in the Hollow?

...Caligo. I see. So the rot wasn't just a sickness. The Arcon itself has been consumed.

This is a dire situation. Victoria Island's guardian has become its greatest threat. The Stasis Seal will buy us some time, but a permanent solution will require the Sages to act.

You have done an incredible service for us today. Take these items. Rest for now... we have much to prepare for.
